Commercially available tricalcium phosphate is vegan and vegetarian.
Tricalcium phosphate is an inorganic chemical with the chemical formula Ca3(PO4)2. It is used as an anticaking agent in foods. It can be extracted from hydroxyapatite, a naturally forming mineral, or bone ash. All manufactuers contacted by the VRG said their food grade calcium phosphate came from mineral sources.
